Zona de Azar Argentina – Buenos Aires: Bet365, Betway and Codere Latam Apply for Online Gambling Licence

Argentina.- June 11th 2019 www.zonadeazar.com Bet365, Betway and Codere LatAm have entered the race to secure online gambling licences in Buenos Aires. They all have entered into joint ventures with local operators and registered to file a licence application. There are 10 companies competing for the seven igaming licences. June 25 is the deadline for interested parties to register their intention to apply for a licence.

Through its Hillside subsidiary, bet365 has partnered bingo hall operator Pasteko, while Betway has paired up with Bingo King. Codere LatAm -a subsidiary of the Madrid-listed operator- will work with slot and bingo hall operator Iberargen.

The winning bidders will be granted a 15-year operating licence, for which they have to pay AR$65m (US$1.4 million). They will be able to offer online casino games including slots, sports betting, poker and betting on horse racing and have to pay a 25% tax on gross revenue.
