Zona de Azar Greece – Hard Rock Losses Latest Appeal For Greek Casino Resort

Greece.-May 13, 2020 www.zonadeazar.com  Hard Rock International has lost its latest attempt to be re-included in the tender process to operate a casino resort at the former Ellinikon International Airport near the Greek capital of Athens.
Greeks top court rejected the application by Hard Rock to once again join the race by the only other sole contender Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment.

In January the Hellenic Gaming Commission said that Hard Rock was removed from the process and only Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment would proceed to the next stage of the process.

According to the regulator Hard Rock failed because it was missing vital pieces of information in its tendering process along with the fact the regulator said the company could not prove without doubt it had the funds to proceed with the development. The regulator also said that Hard Rock lacked the experience to develop the casino resort as part of the wider redevelopment of the old international airport.

It is understood that Hard Rock will continue with its fight to be included in the tendering process and take the fight to European courts.
