Zona de Azar UK – GLMS: “Education is Primordial to the Prevention of Sports Manipulations”

UK.- November 5th 2020 www.zonadeazar.com From the athletes themselves – a desire to understand recognise and prevent against sports manipulations. A dedicated article in the Macolin Convention, education is primordial to the prevention of sports manipulations, especially protecting athletes and personnel on and around the field of sport.

GLMS is delighted to contribute to this education as a partner of the #erasmusplus project, #Integriball for womens football and grassroots football.

“I would like to know more about sport manipulation to be able to protect myself and my players” were the forceful words of the coach of the Hellenic women’s football team during one of the meetings in the fourth #Integriball fact-finding mission in Greece 🇬🇷 organised by CSCF – Foundation for Sport Integrity together with the Hellenic Football Federation Official.

Indeed, education on the phenomena of #matchfixing and #sportmanipulation was commonly highlighted by all representatives of Hellenic football as an imperative to protect young and female footballers from this threat.

In this way, we successfully conclude this mission with very positive impressions and meaningful contributions that will be truly essential in building a comprehensive training program in the country. Thanks to the Hellenic Football Federation Official, their Integrity Officer, our CSCF’s delegates, and each of the participants who made this work possible.
