Zona de Azar USA – Gambless Problem Gambling App Sees US Download Increase

USA.- July 26th 2022 www.zonadeazar.com Gambless, a mental health app providing support to problem gamblers, has published its half-year 2022 update, reporting that its app ranks number one for “gambling addiction” and related searches on Google Play in most countries, including the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, and Italy.

The app notes that this ranking means it has captured most of the user-led organic demand for help even without referrals from other organizations.

Gambless has stated that, in recent months, it has seen an increase in US downloads. In 2021, out of all English speakers, US-based problem gamblers registered on the app held a 28% representation. That share has increased to 35% in 2022.

The app believes the main reason behind this growth could be due to the continued legalization of online gambling across the US and its increased popularity, as those who wager online are more likely to search for digital support.

When Gambless asked its US users where they/used to gamble the most, DraftKings came out on top, followed by BetMGMFanDuelChumba Casino, and BetRivers (2021: DraftKings, Bovoda, FanDuel, BetMGM, HollywoodBets).

Gambless has also integrated with Mindspa Health, allowing its users to take a problem gambling self-assessment, after which they will be redirected to the app’s resources if they are deemed at risk.

The integration, Gambless notes, will “ensure greater awareness” of problem gambling, while also helping the app with its mission of tackling gambling addiction with a “holistic mental health approach”.

Mindspa has over one million registered users and hundreds of thousands of monthly readers on its blogs and social media, and it has been ranked among the top five mental health apps in Europe by Apple in 2021.

As it continues to build its digital support tools to the highest standards, Gambless also reports that it has been the subject of several studies and research papers, including the Canadian Responsible Gambling Council’s paper “Gambling digital tools: Promising practices & future opportunities”.
