Brazil.- March 13, 2025 – www.zonadeazar.com In a statement to the CPI das Bets this Tuesday (11), the Special Secretary of the Federal Revenue Service, Robinson Barreirinhas, said that since January of this year, the agency has had information on the financial transactions of betting companies in Brazil, allowing it to estimate revenue losses since 2018, when the activity was authorized in the country.

The secretary also advocated for stricter tax treatment for bettors as a way to discourage online gambling. Given the projected revenue collection data for the coming months, the president of the CPI, Senator Dr. Hiran (PP-RR), supported expanding the commission’s work.
