The panel titled “Corruption in Sports: The regularization of sports betting companies” brought together important figures from the sector in Brazil.

The event, an initiative of the United Nations Global Compact, Rede Brasil, and AYA Earth Partner, chose to address this topic due to its current relevance in Congress and the media.

During the forum, Fred Justo, General Coordinator of Asset Laundering Monitoring and Other Crimes at the Ministry of Finance, mentioned that the Ministry is in dialogue with sports betting operators to include them in a corruption prevention program in the sector.

Justo emphasized the importance of collaboration between the federal government, the legislative branch, and the judiciary to effectively combat corruption. According to him, it is essential that the issue be discussed among the Three Powers and the various ministries, particularly the Ministry of Justice.

The goal of the program mentioned by Justo is to highlight the value of collaboration between the Ministry of Finance and sports betting companies, with the hope that such cooperation will be decisive in the fight against money laundering and corruption in the field of sports betting.
