Malta.- 9th September 2022 www.zonadeazar.com Kambi Group has purchased front-end technology specialist Shape Games for an initial €38.5m ($38.4m), a figure which could rise to €78.1m if performance-related bonuses are met.
The acquisition of the Danish tech company signifies Kambi’s push to improve its mobile capabilities, where it sees most of its sportsbook revenue.
Kambi’s purchase of Shape Games comes following a pre-established partnership between the two.
After announcing the deal, Kristian Nylen, Kambi CEO and Co-founder said: “I’ve always been clear on our intention to acquire technology and talent that will complement and enhance our sportsbook proposition, and I have no doubt Shape Games will do just that.
“Having worked closely with Shape Games and its experienced team over recent years, I have seen first-hand how their technology enables operators to extract the full value of the Kambi sportsbook and provides the level of control operators require to deliver bespoke experiences to their players.”
Meanwhile, Christian Risom, Shape Games CEO and Co-founder, further commented: “We are very happy to join forces with the leading sportsbook provider of the industry.

In August, Kambi signed an agreement with Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort, while another important acquisition in recent years has been that of esports betting supplier Abios.
