Zona de Azar Spain – Today Starts SBC Summit Barcelona Which Will Welcome Record Numbers

Spain.- September 20th 2022 www.zonadeazar.com SBC Summit Barcelona is expected to attract record numbers next week, with more than 6,000 delegates, nearly 400 speakers, and 200 exhibitors lined up to attend.

This is the second year the Summit will run as an in-person event, having debuted last year as one of the industry’s first major shows post-COVID, with a more modest 2,000 attendees. The Summit will be held at Fira Barcelona Montjuïc, September 20-22.

This year, according to marketing director Dennis Algreen, the show will occupy twice the space it did in 2021 and welcome three times as many attendees. It will have a 200-booth expo floor and a conference program covering all gambling verticals, as well as compliance and emerging tech.

The show will also feature special events, such as the First Pitch competition, kicking off at 11 a.m. on September 22, offering six companies the chance to pitch to a judging panel for a prize that will help accelerate their growth.

The expo is organized across five dedicated zones: sports betting, casino and igaming, payments and compliance, affiliate, marketing and media, and emerging tech, blockchain and metaverse.

“This is not only a global event. We’re also aiming to cover all verticals. So we’ve made sure that there is content and networking for everyone within a specific company, which is why we’ve split the event into five zones,” Algreen explains.

The emerging-tech zone is totally new to the event and picks up on the anticipated trend for gambling to gradually merge with blockchain and metaverse technology. It will feature high-profile web 3.0 experts, as well as panels on the role of NFTs and marketing in the metaverse.

The conference content will occur on seven stages, where close to 400 high-level speakers will share insights on big-picture issues, emerging opportunities, and the day-to-day operational challenges faced by the industry.

The speaker line-up includes keynotes from American entrepreneur, author, and organizer of high-stakes VIP gaming Molly Bloom, CEO of sports entertainment company DAZN Group Shay Segev, Trustly CEO Johan Tjärnberg, bestselling author of The Metaverse: And How it Will Revolutionise Everything, Matthew Ball, and Sportradar founder Carsten Koerl.

Elsewhere on the agenda are numerous senior executives and product, marketing, and legal experts from operators, regulators, suppliers, and affiliates.

Other special event highlights include Molly’s Barcelona Game, the SBC Football Championship (with Gaizka Mendieta), the SBC Awards, and Google Masterclasses.

This year’s event is billed to have the most global outreach to date, with delegates from across the world. Last year, attendees came from more than 95 countries, with 31% occupying C-suite roles within the industry, and a further 22% coming from other decision-making roles.

Algreen says SBC intends that this event continue growing and attracting overseas visitors from outside the European market.

“The actual venue is one that has almost infinite potential for expansion,” he says, adding that he anticipates much more content for North American delegates at future events as the market matures. He also expects more content for the affiliate side of the industry in coming years.

This year’s conference includes a session focused on emerging igaming markets, which will look at the opportunities in North America, LatAm, Asia, Africa, and Eastern Europe, as well as one titled “U.S. Market Entry – Entering the Second Wave of Sports Betting and Igaming.”
