Zona de Azar USA – YouTube Announces New Guidelines for Gambling-Related Content

USA – March 7, 2025www.zonadeazar.com YouTube has announced new guidelines for gambling-related content to enhance platform safety. These new rules will take effect on March 19.

Content creators will be prohibited from verbally mentioning gambling services not approved by Google, displaying their logos, or providing links to these sites in their videos. Additionally, videos discussing online gambling may be subject to age restrictions, preventing access for users under 18 or those not logged into YouTube.

It is important to note that these rules do not apply to content about online sports betting or land-based gambling. However, content that promises guaranteed returns may be removed, regardless of whether the gambling service is approved by Google or not.

The goal of these changes is to protect the YouTube community, particularly younger viewers. These measures follow previous platform actions, such as the 2021 ban on gambling advertisements in YouTube’s premium ad space.

Other platforms, like Twitch, have also implemented similar restrictions, limiting streams that feature gambling sites with slot machines, roulette, or dice games. Google recently announced tests of a machine-learning model to estimate user ages, aiming to provide age-appropriate experiences across its platforms, including YouTube.
