Zona de Azar UK – “PokerStars” Starts International Women’s Day Celebrations Early

U.K.- March 4 , 2021 www.zonadeazar.com  Sunday is the biggest day of the week for online poker tournaments and for a few weeks from March 7, 2021, just ahead of International Women’s Day (IWD) on March 8, the buy-in for the PokerStars Women’s Sunday will be lowered to $22.

But that’s not all. On 7 March we’re also adding three Sunday Million Anniversary tickets to the Women’s Sunday prize pool. The top three players will each win tickets worth $215 to the prestigious Sunday Million 15th Anniversary event on March 21, which has a massive $12.5 million guaranteed. PokerStars Streamer GJ Reggie, who had a great run in last year’s IWD Sunday tournament finishing in second place, will also be streaming the tournament on her Twitch channel.

“We had lovely feedback from the community last year when we celebrated International Women’s Day. We had numerous activities, including making the Women’s Sunday event juicier, lowering the buy-in and giving more to play for, as well as shining a spotlight on our female community with special competitions and Platinum Pass giveaways,” said Rebecca McAdam Willetts, Associate Director of Consumer Engagement and Public Relations at PokerStars. “Taking on board feedback about what our female players are looking for, we’ve added Sunday Million tickets to this event, and are looking closely at these tournaments to make sure they’re as engaging as can be going forward. We’ve been working behind the scenes, and while we will celebrate on International Women’s Day, there is so much more to come in our plans to make the game as great as it can possibly be for every player, every day.”

The Women’s Sunday tournament will take place at 14:40 ET on PokerStars.com and late registration will be available for an hour and a half. Satellites are also available from $0.22.

There are more exciting things to come for our female community, including opening the door for players to speak directly to us about all things poker and how we can improve their experience.
