China.- January 26th 2024 www.zonadeazar.com [1]Grant Chum has been designated as the new CEO and President of Sands China, leading a series of significant changes in the company’s senior executive lineup, as officially announced late Wednesday.
At the age of 48, Chum, formerly the Chief Operating Officer, assumes the role of CEO and President immediately, concurrently holding the position of Executive Vice President — Asia Operations at the parent company, Las Vegas Sands (LVS). Chum’s elevation coincides with Sands China’s declaration that Robert Goldstein, Chairman and CEO of LVS, will step down as Sands China CEO but retain his position as Chairman of the Board. Dr. Wilfred Wong will also step down as President, taking up the role of Executive Vice Chairman.
Further executive adjustments include Dave Sun MinQi appointed as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and Dylan Williams appointed as Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Company Secretary.
Chum, marking a decade at Sands, was recruited from UBS Investment Bank in 2013, bringing an impressive career in overseeing Asian gaming research. Initially appointed Senior Vice President for Global Gaming Strategy for LVS, he later served as Sands China’s Chief of Staff in 2015 before advancing to Chief Operating Officer in February 2020. He assumed the role of Executive Director in 2021.
Sands China secured a new 10-year gaming concession in December 2022 under the combined leadership of Chum and Dr. Wong.
