Zona de Azar Brazil – Brazil: Understand the Case Involving Vaidebet and Corinthians

Brazil.- May 27, 2024 www.zonadeazar.com  The atmosphere at Corinthians remains tense due to problems involving its main sponsor, VaideBet.

The marketing superintendent, Sergio Moura, decided to temporarily step aside from his duties last Thursday (23).

Moura intends to file a complaint in court for defamation, slander and slander. According to an ESPN report, he justifies his dismissal as a measure to protect himself from an alleged “political persecution” that was being orchestrated against the administration of the club’s president, Augusto Melo.

Furthermore, Moura mentioned that since the beginning of this controversy he has been the target of five death threats. He stressed that he will take advantage of his leave time to dedicate himself to his legal defense, without setting a deadline for his return.

Moura challenged his accusers to present evidence that he had received money or had ties to shell companies. “Within the club they accused me of being involved with an orange company. I want to see the evidence. “They came with documents to attack me,” he said.

Understand the Case Involving Vaidebet and Corinthians

The controversy arose after journalist Juca Kfouri, in a publication in UOL, revealed details of a suspicious negotiation.

According to documents, the company Rede Social Media Design Ltda, in charge of mediating the sponsorship, received two amounts of R$ 700 thousand, from Corinthians, in March of this year.

Subsequently, the Social Media Design Network would have redirected R$ 580 thousand and R$ 462 thousand to Neoway Soluções Integradas em Serviços Ltda, whose partner is Edna Oliveira dos Santos.

Edna refutes claims that she owns Neoway. Furthermore, Neoway’s official address is a building where no members of the company have apparently been seen.

The accusation also includes that Alex Fernando André, also known as Alex Cassundé, owner of Rede Social Media Design Ltda, was part of Augusto Melo’s communication team in his electoral campaign and has friendly ties with Sergio Moura.

The report indicates that Marcelo Mariano, administrative director, authorized payments of R$ 700,000 without the consent of Rozallah Santoro, financial director, who was absent.

What Did the Corinthians Say?

Following the publication of the report, Corinthians expressed its opinion in an official statement. “Sport Club Corinthians Paulista was aware of the accusation published in the press and reaffirms that all negotiations, including sponsorships, were carried out legally with regularly constituted companies,” the club declared.

“The club emphasizes that it is not responsible for any transfer of funds to third parties. If any evidence of illegal acts is presented, it will be discussed with the Deliberative Council for the necessary measures.”

Negative Repercussions with the Sponsor

VaideBet, Corinthians’ main sponsor, expressed its displeasure with reports of the allegations. The company communicated its concern to the club via email, warning of the negative consequences for its reputation and considering the termination of the sponsorship agreement.

According to VaideBet, the recently published news threatens the integrity and prestige of the brand, which aims to consolidate its position in the gaming sector.
