Zona de Azar Brasil – Globo Expected to Receive R$1 Billion from Betting Companies by 2025

Brazil.- September 13, 2024. www.zonadeazar.com With the exponential growth of the betting market in Brazil, companies’ investments in advertising have increased significantly, especially in digital and media outlets such as television.

Rede Globo, the largest television network in Brazil, is expected to receive around R$1 billion in sponsorships from betting companies by 2025.

According to BP Money Portal, this year alone, the network is set to receive approximately R$600 million from partnerships with sports betting companies. With regulation coming into effect in January 2025, the network expects a revenue increase, having signed a partnership with MGM Resorts to enter the sports betting market.

Rede Globo states that the betting sector is not among its top five advertisers, but research shows that betting companies account for 5% of the network’s advertising revenue, equivalent to R$11 billion annually. This figure surpasses the income from the government and state-owned companies, which accounts for 4% of its revenue.

In 2024, investments in the network’s football programming have already brought in R$260 million from Betnacional. EstrelaBet invested R$49.5 million to promote its brand on the reality show Estrela da Casa.

Another reality show, Big Brother Brasil, received R$87.4 million from Esportes da Sorte. Betano sponsored broadcasts of the Copa América and the Euro Cup, though the amounts were not disclosed.

By September, the network had already earned over R$400 million. Sources claim that Rede Globo also earns around R$120 million annually from betting companies that advertise on SporTV and another R$100 million from digital media.

The actual amounts could be even higher, as they do not include major standalone advertisers like Sportingbet and bet365.
