Zona de Azar China – China: Government Can’t Force Casinos to Install FRT

China.- June 4th 2019 www.zonadeazar.com The director of Unitary Police Service (SPU), Ma Io Kun has clarified that the government does not have the right to force casinos to install facial recognition systems in accordance with laws as they are considered as private places.

Several reports last week claimed that the SPU may demand casino operators to upgrade their in-house CCTV cameras to include facial recognition technology.

However, Ma said this cannot be demanded from the city’s concessionaires without revisions to the gaming law.
