Zona de Azar Australia – The Star Sydney Reopens Amid Easing of Restrictions

Australia.- October 12th 2021 www.zonadeazar.com The Star Entertainment Group Limited has provided an update on the operating conditions of its venues, with The Star Sydney reopened as of yesterday.

The reopening of the property comes amid the New South Wales Government’s “Reopening NSW roadmap” announced on 9 September 2021. Having been closed since 25 June 2021, it is now open for fully vaccinated staff and guests.

Restrictions remain in place, however, with mandatory mask-wearing, patrons to be seated while eating or drinking indoors, and capacity limited to one person per 4m² indoors and one person per 2m² outdoors.

According to the roadmap, the seating requirement will be removed on the Monday after NSW clears the 80% double dose vaccination hurdle, likely to be either 18 or 25 October 2021. And the capacity is expected to be increased to one person per 2m² from 1 December, with only front-of-house hospitality workers made to wear masks.

“The Star looks forward to welcoming back its team members and guests to The Star Sydney and remains committed to the health, safety and well-being of all staff and guests,” a statement from the group read.

The company’s Queensland properties saw restrictions eased on 8 October 2021, with the capacity raised to one person per 2m² indoors, with mask-wearing remaining mandatory.

Crown Resorts meanwhile has also reopened its Sydney venue amid the new guidelines, with the operator noting: “Today we commence welcoming back hospitality workers and our guests to enjoy Crown Sydney’s world-class hotel, restaurants, bars and recreation facilities, in line with the NSW Government’s roadmap for reopening and easing Covid-19 restrictions.”
