USA.- 05th July 2020 www.zonadeazar.com Seminole Gaming and Hard Rock International have committed $250,000 to a relief fund supporting those affected by the Champlain Towers South condominium collapse in Surfside, Florida.
The collapse has left at least 22 people dead and more than 140 others missing.
Seminole Gaming and Hard Rock are both owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida. The donation goes to the Support Surfside Program, created by the Coral Gables Community, the Key Biscayne Community Foundation, the Miami Foundation, the Knight Foundation, Miami Heat and Miami Heat Charitable Fund.
The program has raised more than $2.25m so far.
“This is a terrible tragedy and our hearts go out to the many people affected by it,” said Seminole Tribe of Florida Chairman Marcellus Osceola Jr. “The Seminole Tribe pledges to marshal our resources and do everything we can to help.”
Seminole Gaming has seven gaming locations in Florida. Seminole Tribe is headquartered in Hollywood, approximately 20 miles from Surfside.
Seminole Gaming and Hard Rock will also conduct a public fundraising campaign at all restaurants, retail and hotel venues. Beginning July 3, Hard Rock Café Miami will deliver 100 dinners to help feed the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue team at the condominium site.
“In keeping with one of Hard Rock’s founding mottos of ‘Take Time to Be Kind,’ Hard Rock and Seminole Gaming team members want to do something meaningful to help people affected by this tragic event,” said Jim Allen, Chairman of Hard Rock International and CEO of Seminole Gaming. “Our Support Surfside Program is about reaching out to our neighbors in need and extending a helping hand.”
