USA.- December 14th 2021 www.zonadeazar.com The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission has revealed sports betting revenue and handle reached new monthly highs in the state during November.
Player spending on sports betting in the month amounted to $287.2m, beating the previous record of $280.9m set in October of this year by 2.2%. The November amount was also 229.4% higher than the $87.2m wagered by consumers in the same month last year.
Online betting accounted for $260.4m of the total wagers placed during the month, while players also spent $26.9m betting on sports at retail facilities across the state.
Consumers won a total of $267.5m from betting on sports in November, which left $19.7m in revenue, a new monthly-high for Iowa, surpassing the previous record of $13.5m set in March this year by 45.9%.
Revenue also rocketed 143.2% year-on-year, increasing from $8.1m in November 2020.
Diamond Jo in Worth’s FanDuel sportsbook claimed top spot in the market with $2.3m in revenue off a total handle of $26.2m.
The Caesars sportsbook at Penn National’s Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino, which led the market in October, slipped to second with $2.2m in revenue and a handle of $30.1m.
Penn National Gaming-owned venue Ameristar II, which uses Penn National’s Barstool brand, was third with $1.8m in revenue from $17.2m in wagers.
