Zona de Azar USA – New York Receives Applications for Mobile Sports Betting Licenses

USA.- August 11th 2021 www.zonadeazar.com The New York Gaming Commission has revealed the initial applicants for its mobile sports betting licence.

Mobile sports wagering is in the process of being regulated in the state of New York, following former Governor Andrew Cuomo’s famous U-turn during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Cuomo, who announced his resignation on Tuesday after an investigation concluded he sexually harassed 11 women, was previously opposed to mobile and online activity. An undoubted increase in the state’s budget deficit during the pandemic, however, was at least one factor in him changing his mind.

Senator Joseph Addabbo has been a keen advocate of mobile sports wagering in New York for some time, and was optimistic when speaking on the GI Huddle after Cuomo’s U-turn in January.

Applicants for the New York licence include operator giant Bet365, supplier Kambi and theScore Bet. Several others are thereby applicants by virtue of being partnered with these companies.
