Zona de Azar Africa – SOFTSWISS Expands in South Africa with New Certifications
Africa.- July 4, 2024 www.zonadeazar.com SOFTSWISS, one of the leading software providers for the iGaming sector, announces its successful certification in South Africa.
The company has obtained a letter of certification (LoC) from the National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications (NRCS) for its casino and sports betting platform, now certified under the South African B2B Manufacturing License.
South Africa will be one of the main markets soon
This license was initially obtained by Turfsport, an experienced South African software provider with 35 years of industry experience.
Earlier this year, SOFTSWISS strategically acquired a major stake in Turfsport, aligning its product portfolios. With this certification, the company expands its offerings in the growing South African market.
Vitali Matsukevich, Chief Operating Officer at SOFTSWISS, comments: “South Africa will be one of the key markets for SOFTSWISS in the coming years. It has immense potential, driven by increasing Internet penetration, lower mobile Internet costs and affordable mobile devices.
Furthermore, the local public shows a great interest in gaming, which further supports our decision to expand here.”
According to InfoQuest research, sports betting is the most common form of gambling in South Africa, with people placing bets on sports around 12 times a month on average.
Casino games and horse betting are more popular on weekends, while lotteries and online betting take place during the week as they are easily accessible.
Thus, the research also reveals that the average gambler engages in three different types of games several times a month. It is worth mentioning that gambling plays a significant role in South African society.
SOFTSWISS highlights a rise in esports in the region
SOFTSWISS’ recently published South African market analysis highlights a growing interest in esports and fantasy sports, particularly among younger, tech-savvy consumers.
Statista reports that 51% of South African survey participants are interested in esports betting. But the National Gambling Board (NGB) notes that 39% are inclined to bet on fantasy sports, especially football, cricket and rugby.
These trends align with global standards and suggest a promising future for these sectors in the region. The detailed analysis of the South African market is freely available and offers valuable insights into these emerging trends.
