Zona de Azar Argentina – Argentina: Seven Casinos in Buenos Aires have been Confirmed for Tender
Argentina – September 10, 2024 www.zonadeazar.com Gonzalo Atanasof, President of the Provincial Institute of Lotteries and Casinos, visited the city of Mar del Plata on Friday, September 6, to participate in multiple activities alongside union representatives from the Central Casino and its annexes. He also joined two bingo sessions with over 200 senior citizens from the city, accompanied by local representative Fernanda Raverta.
The day began around 10 a.m. with a tour of the Central Casino in preparation for the summer season and discussions with union leaders about the tendering of the Hermitage, Sasso, Miramar, Mar de Ajó, Tandil, Sierra, and Necochea casinos, which are currently managed through direct contracts.
“We have confirmed Governor Axel Kicillof’s decision to initiate the pending tenders. We need investments that provide job security. That’s why we listen to the unions’ suggestions—we want to create stability for workers and demand improvements in both the facilities and working conditions,” said Atanasof.
The meeting was attended by Roberto “Chucho” Páez, Secretary General of the Union of Casino Administration, Maintenance, and Services Employees (AMS), Marcos Labrador, President of the National Casino Employees Association (AECN), and Fernando Mogni, Director of the Central Casino.
In the afternoon, Atanasof and Raverta participated in the first Recreational Bingo event, organized under the “Buenos Aires Always Active” program, launched in collaboration with the IPS. The event aimed to bring joy and connection to senior citizens.
“We are very happy to be in Mar del Plata, sharing this initiative with Fernanda and all of you, which has been traveling across the province with a concrete goal—bringing joy and fun to our grandparents and retirees during these difficult times through bingo, prizes, raffles, and dancing,” Atanasof stated.
The second Recreational Bingo was held at the National Casino Employees Association, where there were also prizes, raffles, and music for dancing. Additionally, health stations were set up at both events, staffed by community health workers from the Ministry of Health, who provided blood pressure and glucose checks. IOMA staff were also present to answer questions about the social health insurance system.
The “Buenos Aires Always Active” program is a joint initiative between the Provincial Lottery and the IPS, aiming to create a recreational space for senior citizens while promoting activities focused on social connection, entertainment, and engagement with the provincial government to better understand their needs and concerns.
The program has already visited the towns of Luján, Colón, and La Plata, and will reach San Andrés de Giles by the end of the month to celebrate Grandparents’ Day.
