Argentina.- September 20, 2024 www.zonadeazar.com The Córdoba Legislature rejected two bills that sought to repeal the online gaming regulation in the province.

During a session that lasted until dawn, a reform was approved instead, introducing measures to prevent minors from accessing the platform, including the use of biometric data.

The vote was close, ending in a 35-35 tie, and was broken by provisional president Facundo Torres, who supported keeping the current law in place. The reform also strengthens advertising control and prevention campaigns.

The debate saw opposing views. Legislator María Acevedo, author of the reform, defended the state’s regulation of legal gaming, while parliamentarian Walter Nostrala, a critic of the law, called the reform a “smokescreen” and insisted that the fight to repeal the law would continue.
