According to sources within PointsBet Canada, the launch is just weeks away, promising an enhanced gaming experience for users.

In an earnings call held in early February, PointsBet Group CEO Sam Swanell emphasized the strategic partnership with Strive Gaming, anticipating a transformative impact on their iGaming offerings in the competitive Ontario market.

Swanell stated, “Through partnering with Strive, we will bring our customers a broader selection of games and an enhanced overall experience.”

The move aligns with the growing significance of online casinos in Ontario, particularly highlighted in the FY 23-24 Q3 market performance report from iGaming Ontario. The report, covering October 1 to December 31, 2023, revealed that casino games accounted for 79 percent of total wagers, generating approximately $13.7 billion CAD and $471 million CAD in gaming revenue.

PointsBet Canada’s financial data for the first half of 2024 mirrors this trend, showing robust growth. The Ontario business reported a total revenue of $15.9 million AUD, marking a remarkable 138 percent increase compared to the previous year. Net win from sports betting saw a significant rise of 153 percent to $6.3 million AUD, while iGaming contributed $9.5 million AUD, reflecting a 124 percent increase. The company reported a net win margin of 5.3 percent, nearly doubling the figures from the same period in 2023.
