Zona de Azar Brasil – Brazil: Band is the First Broadcaster to Operate Betting

Brazil.- October 10, 2024 www.zonadeazar.com Band, the TV broadcaster, has become the first in the industry to receive authorization to operate in the sports betting market in Brazil.

BandBet was listed on the SPA on October 2, the date when the official list of licensed betting operators in Brazil was released.

Band’s platform is operated by Bell Ventures Digital, the same company responsible for Viva Sorte. The betting company’s website went live last Friday, October 4, as an innovative brand in the betting market.

In the official site description, the company states that its goal is not only to increase sports fan engagement but also to contribute to the growth of the betting sector in Brazil. Thus, the brand will carry the name of Band, a broadcaster that has been in the TV industry for 87 years, and whose tradition reinforces its credibility.

Globo and SBT to be Direct Competitors in the Betting Market

As reported on our portal, Globo and SBT are also entering the sports betting market. While Globo announced a partnership with BetMGM for 2025, SBT registered in the market with the brand “Todos Querem Jogar” and plans to operate in 2024 in partnership with OpenBet. However, neither is on the final SPA list, which only includes betting companies that are already operating or about to enter the market.
