Zona de Azar Brasil – Brazil: Betting Companies Will Pay a Supervision Fee of Up to R$ 1.9 Million Per Month
Brazil – February 14, 2025 – www.zonadeazar.com The federal government will charge a monthly supervision fee ranging from R$ 54,419.56 to R$ 1,944,000 for the commercial operation of fixed-odds lottery betting, known as “bets,” according to a report by VALOR.
These amounts are outlined in a normative instruction issued by the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting of the Ministry of Finance, published this Tuesday (11) in the Diário Oficial da União (DOU), to regulate the collection of the supervision fee.
According to the normative instruction, the fee is calculated based on revenue after deducting contributions allocated to public security, social security, education, and sports. Eight revenue brackets with corresponding fees have been established.
If a company’s revenue is R$ 30,837,749.76, the supervision fee will be R$ 54,419.56. If revenue exceeds R$ 660,960,000.00, the fee will reach R$ 1,944,000.00.
The supervision fee must be paid by the 10th of the month following the prize distribution through the Guia de Recolhimento da União (GRU). The instruction states that the payment process to the National Treasury’s Single Account will be conducted through PagTesouro, a digital payment processing component managed by the National Treasury Secretariat.
Payments can be made using the following methods available on PagTesouro: Brazilian instant payment system (Pix), credit card, or GRU Simple payment slip.
