Zona de Azar Brasil – Brazil: Government Evaluates Releasing “Jogo do Tigrinho”

Brazil.- July 17, 2024 www.zonadeazar.com According to g1, representatives from the Ministry of Finance stated that the Federal Government is considering releasing the game “Fortune Tiger”, popularly known as “Jogo do Tigrinho”.

The Government believes that the game can be offered through the platforms of bookmakers already licensed in the national territory.

Involved in several controversies in Brazil, Jogo do Tigrinho is a game created by a company based in Malta, in the slot machine category, or slot game, where the results are defined randomly and to win the prize, the bettor will depend entirely on luck. Although some bettors win, the greatest chance in these types of games is financial losses.

For experts in the betting scene, the game falls within the section of the betting law, as the section talks about online games based on randomness. Some now see gambling as illegal based on the 1946 decree-law that prohibits games dependent exclusively on luck.

Officially, the Ministry of Finance stated that it is preparing the new rules for online games that will define whether or not a game complies with the rules for having headquarters in the national territory. To g1, members of the ministry stated that Fortune Tiger meets almost all the guidelines presented in the law that regulated betting in Brazil.

This happens because “Tigrinho’s Game” fits into the following guidelines:

a) there is a fixed odds, that is, the bettor knows how much he will win depending on how much he bets and the result;

b) in which the result is determined randomly, based on a random generator of numbers, symbols, figures or objects.

To date, four companies already have accreditation from the Ministry of Finance, they are:

• Gaming Associates Europe Ltd;
• BMM Spain Testlabs;
• eCogra Limited;
• Gaming Laboratories International (GLI).

However, Treasury members still stated that some games from foreign websites may be blocked. According to them, games with characteristics similar to Fortune Tiger, which also use roulette wheels and symbols, may not have the conditions to be offered legally in Brazil.
