Zona de Azar Brasil – Brazil: Rio Court Orders Influencers to Present Contracts
Brazil.- September 17, 2024 www.zonadeazar.com The Rio de Janeiro Court has ordered Neymar, Felipe Neto, and other influencers to present their contracts signed with the betting platform Blaze.
This decision was made by the 5th Civil Court of the Leopoldina Regional District in August, following a request from Erick Paiva, a Rio native who claims to have lost all his savings after betting on the platform, motivated by videos posted by the soccer player and other celebrities.
The influencers have 15 days to present the documents. However, the request for them to provide statements of their digital accounts was denied for the time being. Erick Paiva claims that, influenced by videos from Neymar, Felipe Neto, and others, he decided to invest R$ 62,000 in Blaze. He says that, contrary to what the influencers suggested, he began losing all the money. According to him, videos on the internet show that the accounts shared by the influencers were training accounts, not real betting ones.
Erick also reports that he used this demonstration platform, where he turned a simulated investment of 1,000 euros into over a million. This video was included in the lawsuit as evidence. His lawyers argue that the influencers, by lending their image and credibility, conveyed a false sense of security and easy profits to the public, leading Erick and others to bet large sums of money. Screenshots of posts from Neymar and Felipe Neto were attached to the lawsuit to prove their relationship with Blaze.
The court is now awaiting the presentation of the contracts by the influencers.
