Brazil. – December 4, 2024 www.zonadeazar.com The Brazilian Poker Championship concluded the 2024 season with a historic milestone at the BSOP Millions 2024. Over the course of the 15-day event, the organization distributed more than R$ 95 million in prizes.

Held at the WTC Sheraton in São Paulo, the 90 tournaments contributed to reaching this impressive amount. Initially, the BSOP guaranteed a prize pool of R$ 60 million but surpassed this record on the tenth day of the competition.

For the third consecutive year, the largest individual sports prize in Brazil comes from poker. The BSOP’s final stage offered million-dollar prizes to five champions. Additionally, five other players earned seven-figure sums.

The “The Legends” tournament stood out with its R$ 250,000 buy-in, a novelty in the Brazilian poker scene. Leandro Zavodini won R$ 3.5 million, the tournament’s largest prize. Three other finalists also received million-dollar prizes.

Over the 15 days, buy-ins ranged from R$ 500 to R$ 250,000. Poker events attracted players from 42 countries and across the nation, totaling 26,408 entries in the 90 tournaments.

Traditionally, poker competitions are inclusive: even amateur players can compete against the biggest names.

Devanir Campos, CEO of BSOP, highlighted the success and growth of the sport in Brazil: “We distributed R$ 46 million in 2022. In 2023, we surpassed R$ 72 million, and now we have come close to R$ 100 million.”

“We are second only to football tournaments in prize money. Poker’s growth is impressive, and 2025 promises to be the biggest year in Brazil’s history.”

The 2025 championship season kicks off from February 6 to 11 in Costa do Sauípe, Bahia.
