Zona de Azar Brazil – Brasil: Betting CPI May Include a Whistleblower Channel on Gambling

Brazil. – December 10, 2024 www.zonadeazar.com The Betting CPI will hear on Tuesday (10) the Secretary of Prizes and Betting from the Ministry of Finance, Regis Alexandre Dudena. Before the testimony, senators are expected to vote on eight motions.

One of them, proposed by the rapporteur, Soraya Thronicke (Podemos-MS), calls for the creation of a whistleblower channel to report the impacts of online gambling on families and crimes such as money laundering and capital flight (255/2024). According to her, the reports will be reviewed by the commission and forwarded to the police and the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Another motion requests access to the São Paulo Civil Police investigation regarding the contract between Corinthians and Vai de Bet (252/2024).
