Brazil.- January 10, 2025 www.zonadeazar.com Former Secretary of Lotteries during the Temer and Bolsonaro administrations, Alexandre Manoel left his position as Chief Economist at AZ Quest this week to lead the new São Paulo lottery, Consórcio Vencedora. He will be the Chairman of the Board, which won the contract to operate the lottery in the state of São Paulo for 600 million reais.

Alexandre Manoel left his role as Chief Economist at AZ Quest this week to fully dedicate himself to the Aposta Vencedora consortium.

The new leader of the Consórcio Aposta Vencedora, São Paulo’s new lottery project, previously served as the Secretary of Public Policy Evaluation, Planning, Energy, and Lotteries, from 2018 during the Michel Temer administration until 2020 under Jair Bolsonaro. He was involved in the formulation of the law that standardized national lottery legislation, which was passed in 2018.

The new São Paulo lottery represents an expansion of the gaming sector in the state, and Manoel’s appointment is seen as a strategic move to ensure effective implementation of operations. His previous experience in both government positions and the private sector is expected to contribute to the success of the project.
