Zona de Azar Brazil – Brazil: Betting Companies Linked to Football in Trouble
Brazil – October 9, 2024 www.zonadeazar.com – Teams with commercial agreements with irregular betting companies must remove them from their uniforms by next Thursday, October 10.
As we previously reported on our website, betting companies that are not on the final list of licensed operators in Brazil will have their signals removed by Anatel (National Telecommunications Agency) on October 11 (Thursday). As a result, bettors with deposits in these betting companies must withdraw their funds before this deadline.
Additionally, teams with commercial agreements with these irregular companies must also remove their logos, as determined by the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting, which is linked to the Ministry of Finance. In the Brasileirão Serie A, five teams have commercial agreements with companies that did not make it onto the Ministry of Finance’s final list.
Esportes da Sorte is currently the main sponsor of Corinthians in Serie A, Ceará in Serie B, and Náutico in Serie C. The betting company also has commercial agreements with Athletico Paranaense, Bahia, and Grêmio, as well as Palmeiras’ women’s football team.
According to Portal Zero Hora, Grêmio’s management stated that the club had not received “any information regarding the removal of the sponsorship from the jersey,” and that the logo would be used in the match against Atlético Mineiro, to be held on Wednesday, the 9th, in Belo Horizonte.
Below is a list of betting companies linked to football clubs that are expected to cease operations as of October 11:
Esportes da Sorte – Athletico-PR, Bahia, Ceará (Serie B), Corinthians, Grêmio, Náutico (Serie C), Santa Cruz (no division), and Palmeiras (women’s team)
Stake – Juventude
Betvip – Sport (Serie B)
RealsBet – Coritiba (Serie B) and Amazonas FC (Serie B)
Dafabet – Guarani (Serie B)
