Brazil.- October 24, 2024 www.zonadeazar.com Betvip and Ganhabet, betting companies linked to singer Wesley Safadão and his brother Watila, have been blocked by the Ministry of Finance. As a result, despite approval from Loterj (Lottery of the State of Rio de Janeiro), the company will only be able to operate in Rio de Janeiro.

However, according to Folha, Loterj is trying to position itself as an alternative for issuing licenses to betting companies, although the federal government opposes this. Safadão’s company claims to be just an employee of the site, while the registration with Betvip was carried out by the singer’s family business.

According to reports, Watila, the singer’s brother, was responsible for registering the Ganhabet brand. Official records indicate that one of the companies owning the two betting sites has Safadão’s sister-in-law as a partner.

Currently, three companies share ownership of the two betting companies: 50% belongs to Rockstock, 40% to BGA Tecnologia, and 10% to Wolfsburg Participações. BGA Tecnologia, which is responsible for Ganhabet, is managed by Dayane Rocha.

The Ministry of Finance did not disclose why Betvip was blocked, as the company had applied for registration within the legal deadline. Possible reasons for rejecting a company’s registration include criminal records of partners or issues with the documentation submitted. Wesley Safadão has been the face of Betvip since 2023, and the betting site was the main sponsor of Sport.
