Zona de Azar Brazil – Brazil: EstrelaBet Clarifies Changes in Affiliate Program

Brazil.- September 6, 2024 www.zonadeazar.com EstrelaBet, one of the leading sports betting and online gaming companies in Brazil, announced changes to its affiliate program. In contact with the iGaming Brazil portal, the company clarified that the program has not been fully discontinued.

According to EstrelaBet, the program remains active, but some affiliates have been terminated and received a notice with specific instructions.

This measure was taken as the company adjusts its operations and strategic planning to meet the new regulations for betting, including commercial strategies, advertising, and affiliation.

For affected affiliates, the list of recommendations includes keeping the wallet active for only 30 days from the notification. In addition, commissions generated via affiliate links will no longer be recorded.

The statement from EstrelaBet informs that:

  • From this date, commissions generated through the affiliate link will not be counted and will not be available for future withdrawals from the wallet.
  • The wallet will remain active for 30 days from the notification.
  • During this period, affiliates must withdraw any remaining amounts.
  • After this period, the wallet will be deactivated and will no longer be accessible. It is worth noting that

EstrelaBet is not the first company to take this stance. In July, Betsson Group Affiliates also changed its affiliate compensation model.

At that time, the group announced that, from August 1, it would no longer offer “Commission Structures based on a Cost per Acquisition (CPA) model nor hybrid Commission Structures with a CPA component, for New Clients in Brazil.”

All clients existing before August 1, 2024, will continue to be managed under the Affiliate Agreement entered into between the affiliate and Betsson Group.

The market expects other betting companies to also review their affiliate partnership models in the coming months due to the new legislation that will come into effect in the country starting January 1, 2025.
