After John Textor, majority partner of Sociedade Anônima de Futebol (SAF) Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas, denounced several irregularities in Brazilian football, including an “alleged purchase of arbitrations by Palmeiras”, Jorge Kajuru, president of the Commission, presented the request for the invitation of the club president.

Kajuru maintained that it is essential that Pereira clarify the accusations to the CPI. For the senator, “it is crucial to investigate all possible violations to guarantee transparency and equity in the national sports panorama.”

VaideBet is being investigated by the São Paulo Civil Police on suspicion of evasion in the transfer of part of the commission for the intermediation of the sponsorship framework contract between the brand and the Corinthians club.

The investigation, which began on May 27, is still in the initial process. If progress is made, an investigation will be opened into the sponsorship agreement between the São Paulo club and VaideBet.

“In this preliminary phase we are already carrying out investigations. Let’s find out who Neoway’s partners are, check with the company headquarters. We want to know who really negotiated the contract. We want to know about Cassundé. Let’s get in touch with Edna [owner of Neoway],” declared Tiago Fernando Correia, delegate in charge of the case.
