Zona de Azar Brazil – Brazil: Finance Ministry Regulating Online Gaming and Betting Ads

Brazil.- February 1, 2024 www.zonadeazar.com The Ministry of Finance is drafting a decree that will establish rules regarding the disclosure of online games and gambling, aiming to clarify the direct accountability of operators and those disseminating false information and games not allowed in Brazil.

The text will also emphasize the need for betting companies to share the algorithms used in games to prevent consumers from being deceived with biased data aimed at directing them towards defeat.

Among the actions stipulated in the text are the requirement to inform that a particular post is an advertisement, the prohibition of promising guaranteed winnings, the restriction of the participation of children and adolescents in ads, as well as ads targeted at them, and the inclusion of the message “Play responsibly” at the end of the advertisement.
