Zona de Azar Brazil – Brazil: Prizes and Betting Secretariat Appoints Finance and Control Auditor

Brazil.- May 28, 2024 www.zonadeazar.com The Official Gazette of the Union (DOU) this Monday (27) publishes an ordinance appointing Emerson Luiz Gazzoli, Federal Auditor of Finance and Control, to serve as Coordinator of Betting Authorization, of the General Coordination of Betting Authorization of the Undersecretary of Authorization of the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting of the Ministry of Finance.

The ordinance is signed by Secretary Regis Anderson Dudena.

Last week, the SPA issued some regulations to advance the process of regulating the sports betting and online gaming market in Brazil.

The first licenses should be announced in 2024. In other words, companies operating in Brazil without proper authorization next year will be subject to sanctions.

Emerson Luiz Gazzoli has a degree in Economic Sciences from the State University of Campinas. He has experience in the area of Economics, with emphasis on Growth, Fluctuations and Economic Planning.
