Zona de Azar Brazil – CPI of Bets to Summon Influencers and Gambling Company Owners

Brazil.- November 20, 2024 www.zonadeazar.com The CPI (Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry) on Bets has approved 170 requests, including summonses, invitations, and information requests.

Among the witnesses are influencer Deolane Bezerra, singers Wesley Safadão and Jojo Todynho, and comedian Tirulipa.

The commission will also hear from owners of betting websites and representatives from the Ministries of Finance, Social Development, and Health.

The commission’s rapporteur, Soraya Thronicke (Podemos-MS), hopes that the Supreme Federal Court will not prevent those already under investigation from appearing before the CPI.

Senator Humberto Costa (PT-PE) highlighted the CPI’s decision to request data sharing from the Pernambuco Civil Police’s Operation Integration, which has been investigating crimes related to online betting platforms since September.

The first to testify will be Fernando Oliveira Lima, the representative of the “tigrinho game” in Brazil.
