Brazil.- Today, the 25th, the Brazilian Institute of Responsible Gaming (IBJR) and GeoComply joined forces, a company that offers geolocation tools for anti-fraud solutions, present in the betting sector for more than ten years.

The new associate will suggest technological measures that aim to promote responsible gaming and the safety of bettors and operators.

The collaboration brings together the expertise of the Institute’s members and GeoComply’s compliance expertise, in order to propose solutions to combat gambling manipulation and online fraud, as well as measures that enable the integrity of sport in the Brazilian market.

The objective of GeoComply is to provide solutions based on data collection mechanisms, detection of fraud and financial crimes, account takeover, abuse of promotions, proxy betting, identity theft, money laundering, among other irregularities. Additionally, it aims to promote improvements in identity and age verification pass rates.

The company currently provides fulfillment solutions to several international betting brands, including Caesars, BetMGM and Betsson.

“The Brazilian scenario demands direct measures to combat gambling manipulation, fraud and identity theft,” said André Gelfi, executive director of IBJR.

“GeoComply’s extensive experience in this sector is aligned with IBJR’s objectives of working together with companies that can provide important information to the government and society on methods to detect counterfeits and fraudulent processes in online games,” Gelfi said.

Furthermore, he concluded: “This partnership puts us on another level in the debate on how to combat illegal attempts to manipulate bets and intelligently verify players.”
