Zona de Azar Brazil – MGM Group to Acquire Brazilian Sportsbook

Brazil.- August 06, 2024 www.zonadeazar.com One of the largest sportsbooks in the United States, MGM is negotiating with KTO, a sportsbook active in the betting scene in Brazil, with the aim of entering the sports betting scene in Brazil once and for all.

As we previously reported, the American bookmaker is one of those interested in operating in the national market.

MGM is a conglomerate of American companies based in Bervely Hill, California and was founded in 1924. The company has gained notoriety for its film and television productions and also operates in various commercial areas such as resorts, casinos and restaurants in Las Vegas, as well as being a company with an established name in hospitality and entertainment.

News outlets Sports MKT and BNL Data recently claimed that TV Globo and sports betting operator BetMGM were in advanced negotiations to close a partnership that would result in the creation of a bookmaker.

Globo is one of the companies on the list of companies that have previously shown interest in obtaining a licence from the Treasury to operate in the sports betting market in Brazil. The company, which is one of the world’s largest broadcasters, was included in the list through the CNPJ of its fantasy game, Cartola FC, and also through DFS Entretenimento.
