Zona de Azar Brazil – Sportingbet is the Favorite to Become Palmeiras’ main Sponsor
Brazil.- October 25, 2024 www.zonadeazar.com Palmeiras is in advanced negotiations with the betting company Sportingbet to sign a master sponsorship deal starting in 2025.
This contract, which is expected to last three years, has not yet been formalized, but discussions have already moved beyond the initial phase.
About 20 days ago, the talks were in an embryonic stage. Currently, the parties involved are exchanging final conditions to close the deal.
Sportingbet’s offer is the most attractive so far. However, the club is still in talks with other interested companies, awaiting a better offer. Verdão has not commented on the matter to UOL, only mentioning that the competition is still ongoing.
Leila Pereira, president of Palmeiras, has some resistance regarding the world of betting, but recognizes Sportingbet’s solid track record, having been founded in England in 1997 and maintaining partnerships with major football entities like Conmebol. Additionally, the company is among the betting operators authorized by the government.
Palmeiras’ Objective
Palmeiras’ objective is to secure a master sponsor along with two additional properties, aiming to reach around R$ 150 million from the uniform sponsorship. This figure excludes the nearly R$ 50 million from the sportswear deal with Puma.
Currently, the club receives R$ 81 million from sponsorships with Crefisa and Faculdade das Américas, which have exclusivity over all uniform properties.
Moreover, Palmeiras is considering opening the women’s team uniform to competition to attract new sponsors. The current contract with Esportes da Sorte, which sponsors the women’s team, is valid only until December.
Thus, Palmeiras is strategically evaluating its options to maximize its sponsorship potential. The final decision is yet to be made, but Sportingbet is positioned as the favorite to replace Crefisa as the master sponsor of the São Paulo-based club.
