Canada.- July 28, 2021 www.zonadeazar.com Having been closed for 16 months, Niagara Casinos’ has said that pent up demand has seen its performance on reopening ‘exceed expectations.’
The operator of the Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara, said that due to capacity limitations, its casinos can only allow in 3,300, down from 11,000 at Fallsview and 1,900, instead of 6,000 at Casino Niagara. Both casinos reopened with physical distancing, masks, limited gaming and new safety measures, including barriers between machines. They were allowed to reopen slot floors, cafés and bars with table games closed until July 30, with the exception of those offering electronic games. The operator invested $1m on health and safety improvements and $15m on renovations and gaming-floor expansions.
Speaking to the local press, Niagara Casinos President Richard Taylor said: “It [the reopening] absolutely exceeded our expectations. It is incredible after 16 months to be able to get back to safe, fun excitement at both of our properties. Overall, the feedback that we received from our guests and associates was very positive. Guests are excited to be back on property as life begins to feel more normal. We received the feedback that guests felt safe on property and appreciated the measures put in place.
“After 16 months being off the job, returning with many new health and safety measures to implement, a new rewards system and many updates around the property, there were significant changes to their pre-Covid jobs,” he added. “Our great people go above and beyond, always. We had members from all departments stepping up to assist our guests in making their first visit back to the property a success. We look forward to continuing to recall more associates as restrictions ease and more of our amenities are able to open.”
