Zona de Azar China – China Police Crackdown on Cross Border Online Gaming

China.- July 17th 2019 www.zonadeazar.com China’s Public Security Minister Zhao Kezhi reportedly pledged to crack down on cross-border online gambling in a meeting last Friday, just days after state media singled out Suncity Group with allegations of illegal online gambling.

According to Xinhua, Zhao, also a State Councilor, made the remarks at a meeting to deploy forces to bust those involved in illegal gambling.

The police will also crack down on “underground banks” and online payment platforms that provide a financial settlement for cross-border online gambling and other crimes, and wipe out domestic network operators and companies that provide technical support for such crimes, the news agency reported him as saying.

He added he would also seek international cooperation to combat online gambling crimes.

Macau’s largest junket operator has vehemently denied the allegations it is targeting Mainland Chinese with online gambling and proxy betting. Suncity CEO on Saturday called a press conference to publicly denounce the allegations as false and to apologize to the Macau government for any inconvenience caused.
