Zona de Azar China – Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau Officially Opens its Doors

China.-  August 02, 2021 www.zonadeazar.com The highly-anticipated Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau, developed by SJM Resorts in Cotai, officially opened its doors to the public .

The venue opened with 150 new mass gaming tables with a request to relocate a further 118 from four self-promoted casinos and 14 satellite casinos, which will see VIP gaming launched at the property. SJM has permission to operate 1,200 new slot machines although there were ‘specific limits’ on that quota on opening due to COVID restrictions.

The integrated resort, representing an investment of approximately HKD39bn, is a milestone project for SJM, presenting Macau’s historical traditions and cultural interchange of East and West. A Chinese Bai Sun blessing ceremony was held to celebrate the opening. Joining Ms Ho was Managing Director Ms. Angela Leong; Directors Dr. Ambrose So, Ms. Maisy Ho and Mr. Arnaldo Ho. They were joined by management representatives of SJM and Grand Lisboa Palace, as they performed the Bai Sun rituals of cutting the pig and dotting the eyes of the lions, and wished for good fortune and success while welcoming guests to enjoy the resort.

Ms. Ho said: “This project is a testament to SJM’s strong confidence in Macau’s diversified development and success, and demonstrates our long-term vision in the sustainable development of our brand.”

In the first phase, the flagship Grand Lisboa Palace Macau, the largest of the three hotel towers in the Resort, is open to guests. Each of its 1,350 contemporary, Chinoiserie-inspired guestrooms pays tribute to the long tradition of Sino-Western cultural exchange in Macau.
