Zona de Azar Malta – Andreas Söneby Joins the Board of Directors at GiG

Malta, September 10, 2024 www.zonadeazar.com The Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) has announced Andreas Söneby as part of the board of directors of the GiG Platform.

Söneby, who replaces Tomasz Juroszek—who stepped down from the GiG Platform board for undisclosed reasons—will contribute with his expertise in the gaming and technology sectors. Previously, Söneby held leadership roles at Unibet Group, Kindred Group, and Kambi.

At Kambi, Söneby was Chief Information Officer, responsible for overseeing a team of over 300 professionals and driving the company’s technology strategy. As Chief Technology and IT Officer at Unibet Group, he managed operations and played “a key role in establishing Kambi as an independent entity within Unibet Group.”

Söneby also held executive positions at White Hat Gaming and Instabox, and he is currently a partner at Industrifonden, a venture capital firm in Sweden.

Petter Nylander, Chairman of GiG Software, commented on the appointment: “We are very pleased to welcome Andreas to our GiG Platform board of directors. His deep industry knowledge and leadership experience will be crucial as we continue to strengthen our position as a leading player in the gaming industry.”

GiG Appointments

In addition to Söneby, the GiG Platform team includes Nylander, Hessi Mocca, Mikael Riese Harstad, and Nicolas Adlercreutz.

Temporarily, the GiG Platform board is a committee of GiG’s board of directors dedicated to the Platform and Sports Betting verticals until its split.

At the end of August, Harstad announced that the company’s strategic division into two separately listed entities, Gentoo Media (formerly GiG Media) and GiG Platform, would be completed by the end of September.
