Peru.- July 14, 2024 www.zonadeazar.com The Spanish gaming company Cirsa, owned by Blackstone, completed the acquisition of the Peruvian company Apuesta Total, one of the country’s sports and online gaming operators.
Even though the transaction terms are not known, it is assumed that the Spanish firm has 70% and has a commitment to purchase the remaining 30% over the next few years.
Specifically, Cirsa explained to investors that the acquisition of Apuesta Total includes an effective bonus. However, it is clear that “the impact on the support of the group is not significant” and is in line with previous transactions carried out with other online operators, CincoDías de España reported.
“The operation is coherent with our acquisition strategy, focused on the online sphere, and positions Cirsa as a key player in the incipient Peruvian online gaming market and apuestas, regulated since March 2024, strengthening our omnichannel strategy in Latin America” , expressed.
Cirsa’s operation in Peru
The Spanish company Cirsa is not new in Peru, therefore it has a presence in the local gaming and leisure market with 19 casinos, 74 gambling locations and around 3,200 installed recreational machines.
Furthermore, with the aforementioned acquisition, there will be more than 800 points of sale for Apuesta Total. In his last interview with Management, Gonzalo Pérez, general manager of the Peruvian company, revealed that he was projecting a 30% increase in his income until 2024, driven by sporting events such as the Copa América and Eurocup.
On the other hand, the European company has been making strategic acquisitions in recent years. The 2023 is born from the Italian Modena Giochi; and in 2022, it purchased 60% of the Italian ePlay24, as well as the Mexican Ganabet.
