Zona de Azar U.S.A – GLI® First Accredited Laboratory in Maranhão, Brazil

United States, November 21, 2024 – www.zonadeazar.com Gaming Laboratories International (GLI®) has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first accredited laboratory in the state of Maranhão, Brazil.

This accreditation allows GLI to conduct testing and certification for the gaming and lottery industry looking to partner with fixed-odds betting and lottery operators in the state.

This achievement strengthens GLI’s position in Brazil, where it is already accredited in the three jurisdictions that have authorized laboratories. GLI remains the only laboratory accredited in all of them.

Cassiano Pereira Junior, president of Maranhão Parcerias (Mapa), highlighted the importance of this collaboration between the Maranhão State Lottery (Lotema) and GLI.

“We continuously work to make Lotema even better by providing greater security for its users. The partnership with GLI is a concrete step towards achieving this goal, as their certification laboratories ensure compliance, security, and integrity of the products and systems used by Lotema,” he explained.

Karen Sierra-Hughes, GLI’s Vice President for Latin America, the Caribbean, and Spain, expressed her gratitude to Lotema for the accreditation. “We are proud to support Lotema in implementing certification standards that promote transparency, integrity, and responsibility in the industry. In Brazil, GLI has worked for nearly two decades with government entities, participating in public hearings, and strengthening its local presence to support industry development.
