Zona de Azar UK – IGT Announces its New Digital & Betting Segment

UK.- September 9th 2021 www.zonadeazar.com International Game Technology (IGT) has announced the establishment of its Digital & Betting business segment, comprising the iGaming and sports betting activities that were previously part of its Global Gaming segment. This ensures the new division is split from IGT’s existing branches.

As a result of this at the start of the third quarter of FY2021, IGT will report its results under three business segments; Global Lottery, Global Gaming and Digital & Betting. The IGT iLottery business will remain part of the Company’s Global Lottery segment.

Enrico Drago will be the company’s CEO for Digital & Betting effective immediately and reporting to Marco Sala. Having previously overseen the IGT iGaming, iLottery and sports betting businesses as Senior Vice President, PlayDigital, Enrico, 44, will now oversee the new division.

Marco Sala, CEO of IGT, said: “IGT has established strong leadership positions and driven dynamic growth across its iGaming and sports betting businesses. With significant growth expected to continue, we have decided to establish a dedicated Digital & Betting business segment.

“These businesses have become strategically important to IGT as they afford us the opportunity to leverage the global reach and strong customer relationships of our Global Gaming segment. The new structure gives us more flexibility in our product and solutions portfolio and enables better appreciation of the intrinsic value of these activities.”

IGT is looking to report the financials for its new divisions separately, and re-organise how it will finalise its financial report. Due to the uncertainty around Covid-19 restrictions, especially the newest Delta variant, IGT will hold its Investor Day event virtually with the new date of 16 November 2021.
