Zona de Azar UK – Nottingham Forest’s Harry Toffolo Admits Betting Breaches, Receives Ban and Fine

UK.- September 14, 2023 www.zonadeazar.com Harry Toffolo, a defender for Nottingham Forest, has admitted to breaching betting rules 375 times over several years.

As such, the Football Association (FA) has awarded him a five-month suspension and a £20,956.22 ($26,181.86) fine.

Toffolo breached the betting rules while playing for Swindon Town, Rotherham United, Peterborough United and Scunthorpe United.

An investigation earlier this year found that he had breached FA Rule E1 (b) 375 times, which states that “a participant shall not use, or provide to any other person any information relating to football which the participant has by virtue of his or her position within the game and which is not publicly available for, or in relation to, betting.”

If a player can prove that these bets were on authorised and registered football pools, the bets will not be deemed illegal.

However, as reported today, Toffolo has accepted the charges set against him by the FA.

A spokesperson for the FA said: “Nottingham Forest’s Harry Toffolo has been given a five-month suspension, which has been suspended until the end of the 2024/25 season, and £20,956.22 fine for misconduct in relation to our betting rules.

“The defender admitted that he breached FA Rule E1(b) 375 times between 22 January 2014 and 18 March 2017, and an independent Regulatory Commission imposed his sanctions following a hearing.

“The Regulatory Commission’s written reasons for these decisions will be published in due course.”
