Zona de Azar USA – 26 People Injured After Explosion at Seminole Casino Hollywood

USA.- September 14th 2021 www.zonadeazar.com An explosion during the servicing of a fire suppression system injured 26 people at the Seminole Classic Casino Hollywood Monday morning, spokesmen for Hollywood Fire Rescue and the Seminole Tribe said.

Hollywood Fire Rescue described all injuries as “minor” and said 20 people were treated at the scene while the other six were taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood.

The casino is closed while Hollywood Fire Rescue and Seminole Fire Rescue investigate the explosion. There’s no set time for reopening.

This is the casino at 4150 N. State Rd. 7, a half-mile walk south on State Road 7/U.S. 441 from the guitar-shaped Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. It opened in the 1970s as a bingo hall.

As described by Seminole Tribe spokesman Gary Bitner, a fire suppression system that uses non-flammable compressed gas to put out fires received its regular six-month maintenance service on the second floor of the building. At about 9:50 a.m., a line ruptured when it was being reconnected.

While the area where the work was being done isn’t open to the public, it is over an area of the casino. Hollywood Fire Rescue said the explosion knocked drywall from the second floor to the first floor and that resulted in injuries to some casino guests.

Bitner estimated the building had 100 employees and guests at the time.
