Zona de Azar USA – FanDuel Campaining to Establish Sportsbook Lounge in Chicago

USA.- February 04, 2022 www.zonadeazar.com New York-based FanDuel have proposed to construct a brand-new sportsbook area in Chicago’s premier sports stadium, the United Center. The venue plays host to two of the Windy City’s most famous franchises, the Bulls and Blackhawks, and seats 23,500 spectators.

The move comes as part of FanDuel’s new strategic partnership campaign with the basketball and ice hockey sides. The development will also include a non-sports gaming zone attached to the stadium’s main atrium, which will be cladded in FanDuel branding, and broadcast live sporting events.

Given the scope of the opportunity, it’s unsurprising to see a range of stakeholders express their optimism towards the new partnership. Howard Pizer, CEO of the United Center Joint Venture board, suggest FanDuel are ‘the perfect partner in developing the sportsbook at the United Center’.

Amy Howe, CEO of the FanDuel group, waded in by stating, ‘we can’t wait to make this sportsbook lounge the premier destination for Chicago sports fans’

The operator is currently riding the crest of a wave. With sports wagering launching in its native state earlier this month, FanDuel were part of a small contingent of firms to cash in on New York’s fledgling market. Caesar’s, DraftKings, and Rush Street Interactive joined FanDuel as inaugural operators, with recent performance further consolidated by PointsBet and MGM Resorts International.

Despite having to navigate the choppy waters of the coronavirus pandemic, and the challenges of increasingly fickle punters, the sports wagering industry have resolved to deliver staggering growth across a host of states.

This latest venture in Illinois, if approved by the local gaming board, looks set to be another big win for one of the U.S’s most exciting new markets.
