Zona de Azar USA – Fortnite Will Allow Parents to Set Time Limits
United States – October 3, 2024 www.zonadeazar.com Epic is adding new time limit controls to Fortnite and the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), providing parents with another tool to prevent their children from playing the popular battle royale game all day long.
In an official blog, the platform revealed the new additions to its parental controls, which also include time reports. This tool will allow parents to decide when and for how long their children can play Fortnite, with the option to set specific availability time windows.
Fortnite’s new parental control will include in-game pop-up notifications and the option to request more time.
If the time limit controls are activated, children will start seeing in-game notifications when they have 30 minutes left. Once time runs out, they won’t be able to play again until the next availability window, meaning they’ll have to find another way to entertain themselves.
Other options include voice and chat permissions, the ability to filter inappropriate language, and purchase settings to prevent spending money without permission on skins from Metal Gear Solid, Family Guy, or many others.
Is Fortnite addictive for children?
Fortnite’s massive popularity has drawn the attention of parent groups, with a 2018 report claiming that the game was behind video game addiction in children. Although, of course, this claim has been made about many popular games over the years.
One way or another, the popular battle royale keeps moving forward. Today, October 1, 2024, Epic released patch 31.30, which includes a sleep mode and Fortnitemares promotions. It is currently in the middle of Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 4, which introduces a lot of Marvel-themed content and is expected to run until November.
